Michael S. Seligson, MD, FACS

Vitreoretinal Surgeon
Fellowship Trained, Board Certified

Dr. Seligson is a Vitreoretinal Surgeon and founder of High Country Macula, Retina, and Vitreous, PC. He is a board certified Ophthalmologist and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, Schepens International Society, New Mexico Medical Society, New Mexico Academy of Ophthalmology, GAMA, and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

After graduating from Tulane University with honors, Dr. Seligson attended medical school at the University of Kansas, graduating in 1991. He performed his internship at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ, after which he completed his Ophthalmology residency training at the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans, LA.

Dr. Seligson’s medical and surgical Vitreoretinal Fellowship was performed in 1995 and 1996 at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV, and he’s been practicing Vitreoretinal Surgery ever since.

In 2004, after practicing for four years in Buffalo, NY, and another four years in the Kansas City, MO, area, Dr. Seligson pioneered the first full-service, Vitreoretinal-only practice in Santa Fe, NM. In 2005, he expanded his practice to Albuquerque.

Dr. Seligson is a well-respected surgeon with extensive experience in Microincisional (Sutureless) Pars Plana Vitrectomy as well as traditional methods such as Scleral Buckling. He is fellowship trained in the management of all aspects of Vitreoretinal pathology. Dr. Seligson and High Country Macula perform comprehensive diagnostic services at all of their care centers, including Digital IV Fluoroscein Angiography, Macular and Optic Nerve Tomography, and B-Scan Ultrasonography, and they are the only providers of OCT Angiography in New Mexico.

Dr. Seligson resides with his wife and daughter in Albuquerque. In his spare time, he enjoys literature, mountain biking, hiking, road trips, music, ice cream, performance-car-driving and playing with his new dog, Ringo.

Iuri S. Golubev, MD

Vitreoretinal Surgeon
Fellowship Trained, Board Certified

Dr. Golubev is a board certified Ophthalmologist and Vitreoretinal Surgeon. He’s a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, New Mexico Medical Society, New Mexico Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataracts and Refractive Surgery.

Dr. Golubev attended the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy, “Nicolae Testemitanu” in Moldova, Eastern Europe. After graduating at the top of the class in 2006, he moved to the United States for a research fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL.

Dr. Golubev completed his Ophthalmology residency at the Glick Eye Institute at Indiana University in 2013. Dr. Golubev pursued a Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellowship at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, because of his interest in diseases of the Retina, Choroid, and Vitreous. He completed a two-year medical and surgical fellowship in June 2015 and in late July joined High Country Macula.

Dr. Golubev was born in Voliski, Russia. When he was young, he moved with his family to Moldova, Eastern Europe. Dr. Golubev now lives in Albuquerque and is an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He also enjoys running, bicycling, and swimming.

Fred L. McMillan, MD

Vitreoretinal Surgeon
Fellowship Trained, Board Certified

Dr. McMillan is a board certified Ophthalmologist and Vitreoretinal Surgeon. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, the New Mexico Medical Society, the New Mexico Academy of Ophthalmology, Jackson Ophthalmology Association, Jackson, MS, the Mississippi Association of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, the Central Medical Society, Jackson, MS, and the Mississippi State Medical Association. He has held prestigious offices in many medical associations.

Dr. McMillan was born and raised in Carthage, MS. He attended college at the University of Mississippi, Oxford, where he obtained a BA and MS in 1963. He then attended the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, MS, graduating in 1967.

Dr. McMillan performed his internship at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS, after which he continued his education in Basic Sciences in Ophthalmology at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, graduating in 1971. He completed his Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1973. That same year, he consequently performed and completed both his Corneal Fellowship at Bascom-Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL and his Vitreo-Retinal Fellowship at The Vitreo-Retinal Research Foundation in Memphis, TN.

Dr. McMillan established his private practice in Jackson, MS in January 1974, where, for forty years, he treated multiple diseases of the eye specializing in the Macula, Retina, and Vitreous. When the lure and beauty of the high desert called, Dr. McMillan closed his practice in Mississippi and joined High Country Macula in 2014.

Dr. McMillan now resides with his wife in Albuquerque. He enjoys his time outdoors golfing, hunting, fishing and working on their tree farm.

Henry L. Hudson, MD, FACS

Vitreoretinal Surgeon
Fellowship Trained, Board Certified

Dr. Hudson is a board certified Ophthalmologist and Vitreoretinal Surgeon. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, and the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Hudson attended medical school at the University of Southern California and completed his Ophthalmology residency training at his alma mater. Dr. Hudson’s medical and surgical Vitreoretinal Fellowship was performed at Retina Vitreous Associates of Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA.

After receiving the coveted Upjohn Achievement Award for graduating at the top of his medical school class, Dr. Hudson continued on to become a Vitreoretinal Surgeon. He was a partner in a private practice in Arizona for 18 years and then joined a practice in San Diego, CA in 2014.

Dr. Hudson brings with him an extensive research history that has helped shape the way care is delivered in the Retina field. He has over 40 peer-reviewed publications and has participated in over 100 clinical trials, and he continues to participate in leading-edge clinical research.

Dr. Hudson’s interests include all aspects of medical and surgical Retinal care. He is also deeply involved — nationally and internationally — in lecturing other Retinal specialists on new treatment modalities. In his spare time, Dr. Hudson and his wife experience much success in ballroom dancing competitions.
